Live poetry writing for all events and occasions!

Take Your Event to the Next Level

Live poetry writing is a great way to add another layer of fun and charm to your event.
With an antique typewriter, or ink and quill, I create unique poems by request in real time.
The experience is intimate, personal, and memorable; full of warmth and creativity.
Perfect for all gatherings from weddings, parties, exhibitions, and corporate events, to conferences, conventions, and celebrations of life. Individual commissions can also be made to order any time if you would like to treat yourself or need a one-of-a-kind and meaningful gift for someone special.

Pick a topic.
Get a poem.

It's that simple. If you could get a poem about anything, what would it be? It's an invitation to share a story, a theme, or just a word or two, and after some chatting and typing, a personalized, spontaneous poem will come to life...
Take it home to share and enjoy for a lifetime.

Love. Family. Dogs.

It's no surprise that love, friendship, and family are the most requested topics. Things like new beginnings, dogs, cats, and the ocean, are also popular choices, but if you really want a poem about Mark Twain's mustache, heartbreak, or purple stiletto heels... you name it; I'll write it.

My Story

It began on the coast of Maine in the heart of winter ’85. By age 4 I was turning my bedroom walls into crayon murals. My mom loved my work but suggested paper instead. Visits with my Grampa were usually on his lobster boat. We’d go out 'til sunset, he’d haul a few traps, and we caught fish as big as I was, all while sharing the peace and quiet, save for a humming prop, batting wind, and the chop clapping on the bow.Without knowing it, I learned very early that heaven is everywhere if you know how to look. In 5th grade we moved to rural downeast on Frenchman’s Bay, in Sullivan. A lot of time was spent playing in the woods and on the shore. The romance of the ocean, nature, and family is in my blood. Add in a passionate, former teacher & principal turned grandmother, to influence me in all the best ways, like listening to classical music cassettes and annual trips to see The Nutcracker. At 30, with just my dog and cat, I travelled the country for the first time; Maine to California, and back. I stayed in a tiny house that I built on my truck. As a musician partial to jazz, New Orleans was a Mecca of sorts. After landing there, the gang of street poets that write impromptu poems was suddenly in my path. One of them inspired me to start my own “poetry shop” and a couple months later I was counted among the roster. Everyone had typewriters but since I didn’t own one, I wrote in cursive with ink and quill. I eventually found my first typewriter in a thrift shop in New Mexico. Since then, I’ve written over 6,000 poems in 10 years all across the US, and I’ve been a local staple each summer in downtown Portland, Maine, since the beginning.
